Connecting Gmail
Connect your Gmail account to inbox.dog to start automating your email workflow.
How It Works
inbox.dog uses Google OAuth to securely access your Gmail account. You control what inbox.dog can access, and you can revoke access at any time.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Sign In
- Go to inbox.dog
- Click "Sign in with Google"
- Select your Google account
2. Authorize Gmail Access
After signing in, you'll be prompted to connect your Gmail:
- Click "Connect Gmail" in the dashboard
- Review the permissions:
- Read emails - To process and analyze messages
- Modify emails - To reply, label, archive, and take actions
- Click "Allow" to authorize
3. Verify Connection
Once connected, you'll see:
- Your Gmail address in the account switcher
- Active connection status
- Ability to create agents that watch your inbox
Permissions Explained
inbox.dog requests these Gmail permissions:
gmail.readonly- Read your emails (required for processing)gmail.modify- Reply, label, archive, and manage emails (required for agent actions)
These permissions are standard for email automation tools and are the minimum required for inbox.dog to function.
Security
- OAuth 2.0 - Industry-standard authentication

- Revocable access - Disconnect anytime from your Google account settings
Multiple Accounts
You can connect multiple Gmail accounts:
- Click your account switcher in the top navigation
- Select "Add Account"
- Complete the OAuth flow for the new account
- Switch between accounts anytime
Each account can have its own set of agents and configurations.
